Text Box: Lyman is the fourth child of William Simmons and Betsey Ives born in New York.  As you may know, we have documentation that definitely places Lyman Simmons in Berlin, Michigan in 1849.  We also, know that Lyman married his first wife Anna E. Kelley in 1843 in Wheatfield, Niagara County, New York. Also, we believe that he was with his father and mother when they emigrated from Rotterdam, NY to Wheatfield, NY in 1836.  I have just recently found a statement in the “ History of Ionia and Montcalm Counties”  that indicates Lyman Simmons (and others that are in our ancestry) was present in Berlin Twp., Michigan in 1837 and a land owner in 1848.  This places Lyman in Berlin in the very early stages of the Pioneer Days of Berlin Twp.!  Some connections with the group of Pioneers with Lyman in 1837:
Nelson Beckwith, Abram Eddy, William Pierce, and Robert Hall all have land in Berlin Twp near Lyman, as indicated in the 1860 US Census.
Dianna Eddy (b. 22 Nov 1812 Vermont) is the daughter of Abram Eddy (b. abt 1785).  Dianna married Solomon Tanner (b. 1806 New York) and were parents of Emily Emma Tanner (b. abt 1835 New York).  Emily married Amos Simmons (b. abt 1830 New York) who is the brother of Lyman Simmons.
