Notebook of Lyman Simmons

The time span of this notebook is 1 Jan 1875 to 18 Feb 1876

The first photo is of the Notebook cover, the second photo is a sample of the calendar within the notebook and the last is a sample of Lymans hand written entries.

I have transcribed the writing exactly as I can decipher the writing and then I have written what I perceive to be the meaning with correct current spelling in some cases. Also, I have linked individuals mentioned in the notebook to their perspective database entries to allow the reader a better understanding of the content. Any note entered by the transcriber will be preceded with the word Note and contained within parenthesis ( ).

The writing at times was very difficult to read even with a magnifying class, so there will be mistakes in the deciphering of the writing. If the writing is undecipherable then I have entered question makes (??) in place of those words. I have taken every precaution to protect and preserve the delicate condition of this notebook.

During the reading, deciphering and transcribing of Lymans notebook, during this time of his life, I have gained a perspective and insight into his life that I would not have had without this effort. My hopes are that this understanding will help me piece together some of the missing links of his life time and some of the mysteries that have been uncovered during my research.

I sincerely hope that you (the reader) enjoy reading this transcription as much as I enjoyed transcribing this document!
