 Ancestors Chart 

Click to see Ancestor Example The ancestors chart shows a graphical representation of parents, grandparents and great-grandparents etc. for any individual along with photos if available.

The default chart begins with 4 generations. This can be increased but the page will become wider and you will need to scroll to see the entire page.

Wherever you see the pedigree icon, you can click to show the ancestors of the individual.  Moving the mouse over the down icon Extra Infowill display further information and immediate descendents.

When you see this icon more the generation to the right will be shown from this individual if you click on it.

 Ahnentafel Chart 

Click to see Ahentafel Chart The Ahnentafel Chart lists all the generations in tabular form, complete with all children, birth, marriage & death information if applicable or known.

Ahnentafel charts can show a great deal of information in a compact form.  Study the structure of these charts and you will come to understand how generations fall and the relationships between individuals. Learning the numbering system is the key to understanding this type of document.

 Histories and Photos

Click on me to see Media Example Media is very useful for displaying both lines of parentage for any individual in a family unit and will list grandparents for as far back as is known; subsequently clicking on the individual displays all the photos and histories.

Note the icon when a photo or history is available for an individual.

 Descendants Table 

Click to see Descendants Table Example The Descendants Table lists all generations in either a 'standard', 'compact' 'text' or 'register' form for the individual selected. The Descendants Chart can be reached only from the 'text' or 'register' links by clicking on the icon next to someone's name.

The main difference between this page and the page below is the level of information listed. This table has more information, the chart below is more visual.

 Descendants Chart 

Click to see Descendants Chart Example The Descendants chart (with photos) visually follows the direct line down from the ancestor to the person whose descendant icon you clicked on. While siblings are shown, lines descending from siblings are not included.

How do you find the descendants chart?

    1. First display the descendants table for an individual such as the one in the section above (Descendants Table).
    2.
To select a descendant, click on the tiny descendancy icon next to their name to display the chart down to this person.

 Relationship 

Click to see Relationship Example The relationship chart is a great way of understanding how individuals are related to one another.


Click on the above image to see an example; try finding new individuals to change the chart by clicking "Find another relationship".

 Timeline 

Click to see Timeline Example The timeline compares individuals to current and world history, and can be populated in two ways.



1. Each time you look at an individual then click timeline, this individual will be saved in memory so that next time you look at another individual and click timeline, both individual timelines will be compared, and so on. Delete an individual on the timeline by clicking the box left of their name, then Refresh.

2. Populate the timeline by finding individuals manually.
